Leading global distribution system (GDS) Galileo has signed an agreement with United Arab Emirates carrier RAK Airways that will see the airline's fares and inventory available to Galileo users.
The partnership will mean passengers flying within the Middle East and Africa and travel agents using the GDS will be able to access information about RAK Airways. Khalid Almeer, chief operating officer for the airline, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with a leading player in the travel industry. Galileo is a well established GDS and has a very strong presence worldwide - this agreement provides us with invaluable access to their travel agency network both in the Middle Eastern market as well as abroad."
The agreement comes in the same week as a separate deal made between the GDS and National Airways Cameroon (Nacam) which the airline hopes will benefit its leisure and business travel agency customers. Commercial manager for Nacam Jean-Francois D'Amours said that he and his team were looking forward to a "long and fruitful relationship" with Galileo.
