Offering advances in direct connectivity, a new travel technology product is being launched by a subsidiary of global distribution system (GDS) provider Amadeus.
Amadeus-owned firm TravelTainment has announced plans to introduce its agency selling system, Travel Office, at the Travel Technology Show next month, with the programme already tried and tested in Germany. Travel Office features rich content such as hotel descriptions, images and tours from Traveltainments current database, while bypassing viewdata to provide agents with direct connectivity to tour operators.
Colin McKee, UK sales director of Traveltainment, said: "We have a lot of product and the availability but connecting to make the booking is the challenge but the rich content is one of the biggest selling points."
Stephane Durand, managing director of Amadeus for UK & Ireland, looked forward to launching Traveltainment and other products at the event, explaining: "Together with my team, I am looking forward to meeting customers and potential clients at the Business Travel Show in February. We will be unveiling brand new solutions along with a number of exciting enhancements, all designed to equip travel professionals to better meet the needs of todays travellers."
Amadeus's own Holiday Hotels programme features TravelTainment technology for cached availability and rates as part of its hotel meta-search engine, providing travel agents with full access to bed banks through the Amadeus Selling Platform.
