A new agreement has been reached to allow long-term partnership between an online travel service and a leading global distribution system (GDS) provider.

Online flight booking specialist Priceline.com announced that it would now be processing reservations through Travelport's WorldSpan GDS services, offering the possibility of wider booking options for Priceline.com customers.

Also offering budget hotel room, rental car, vacation package and cruise bookings, Priceline.com has already partnered with the GDS specialist and has seen its customers benefit from Travelport-enabled round the clock fares and inventories access.

Kevin Mooney, chief commercial officer of Travelport GDS, said: "This new agreement demonstrates the value priceline.com places in the cost-effective, reliable and broad-based GDS solutions that Travelport GDS provides to its clients around the world. Priceline.com is one of the [US]'s premier online travel agencies and Travelport GDS is proud to support them."

Chris Soder, Priceline.com's president for North American Travel, added: "We are pleased to extend our partnership with Travelport and continue to offer Worldspan within our portfolio of supplier connectivity options."
