A new content programme from a leading global distribution system (GDS) provider is seeing more and more airlines flock to the service.

Amadeus recently launched its three-year full content programme in Europe and has claimed that 34 airlines are now signed up to the programme, with more likely to come on board.

Air France-KLM, Iberia, Alitalia, and Air Europa are all high profile takers for the Amadeus programme, while an additional 29 airlines are said to have signed up to alternative one-year full content agreements.

The systems provide travel agents and corporations across Europe with access to an airline's full range of fares - until the end of 2010 for three-year takers – via the Amadeus GDS, without any additional costs to travel agencies or customers from either Amadeus or the airlines.

David Jones, Amadeus' commercial executive vice president, said: "We introduced an extended, three-year full content option on January 1st in an effort to establish a period of stability in the European travel distribution market. The positive reaction is evidence that European airlines are satisfied with the balance we have struck between airlines' need to manage distribution costs and the value of giving travel agencies and corporations efficient access to the content they need."
