An online travel agent (OTA) has announced plans for a new air programme analysis service that could use multi-channel content to enhance the firms booking tools, it was claimed.
Business Travel News Online (BTN Online) said that HRG was planning to boost its proprietary self-booking facility with a new desktop tool that uses technology designed to enable buyers better travel policy management.
The new multi-channel air analysis content could enable its analyst support team to conduct audits of the negotiated rates registered on global distribution systems (GDS) booking systems, allowing for checks on whether route-specific discounts apply.
BTN Online said that non-GDS airfares could also be allowed to figure in clients' online booking tools, as HRG's plans seek to boost its Global Pricing Desk and its handling of multi-segment airfares in GDS.
The system will also aims to integrate technology and traveller profiles with the company's Universal Super Platform, a relatively new programme for recording large quantities of passenger name data.
