EasyJet reveals new Newcastle route

Passengers travelling from Newcastle will be able to take advantage of a new route from easyJet with direct flights to the Spanish destination of Murcia

The destination the 17th to be added from the north-east terminal and will operate three times a week.

Carly Brear UK commercial manager for easyJet, said: "Murcia is already a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK and now travellers from the north-east can take advantage of one of the most popular destinations on the east coast of Spain.

Forward bookings for the route have been very strong, which further proves the demand for direct low-fare flights from Newcastle to the sun."

Newcastle Airport recently welcomed two new long-haul routes with flights to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and the Mexican destination of Cancun added earlier this month.

Flights to Mexico will be operated by Monarch Airlines in conjunction with Thomson, which will also run the Punta Cana service.
