Airline & Airport Updates

Wizz Air has announced its third Polish route from Ireland's Cork Airport.

The low-cost carrier will launch two weekly flights to Warsaw in July, with the service joining existing flights to Katowice and Gdansk.

The service will initially run twice a week, and will compliment European flights from Cork offered by SkyEurope, Ryanair, Aer Arann and Aer Lingus.

July will also see the arrival of Wizz's new domestic routes in Ukraine. The carrier will offer flights to four destinations from its base at Kiev Boryspil Airport.

Also available will be flights to Odessa, Lviv, Simferopol, Kharkov and Zaporozhye, with services also planned between Simferopol and Kharkov and Lviv.

"Wizz Air Ukraine's high-quality service and low fares will change the dynamics of the Ukrainian transportation market," commented director general Natalia Kazmer.

She added that the airline "has ambitious plans" to expand both domestic and international routes in the country.
