Low-cost carrier Jet2 has launched the first of eight new routes planned for Leeds Bradford International Airport to Europe.
The carrier's new Leeds to Hamburg service took off on May 1st as the first of its planned summer routes. Hamburg (Lubeck) will be joined later this month by flights to Sardinia, Paphos in Cyprus, and Crete.
Madrid has already been added as a new destination from Leeds Bradford and completing the eight new routes will be Avignon, La Rochelle and Jersey.
Philip Meeson, chief executive of the airline, said: "May really is a momentous month for Jet2.com and Leeds Bradford International Airport, with the launch of eight new fantastic destinations and our biggest ever route expansion to date."
Other new Jet2 flights due to takeoff this summer include services from Newcastle to Corfu and Rhodes, both to be launched in June, and flights to La Rochelle and Toulouse from Edinburgh which will start flying later this month.
Three new services from Manchester were added last month to the Algarve, Rome and Budapest and flights to Ibiza from Blackpool will start in July.
