British Airways moves more flights to T5

British Airways is to transfer another group of its long-haul flights to terminal five (T5) tomorrow (June 5th).

The airline had hoped to move almost all of its flights to long haul destinations by the end of April, but well publicised problems with baggage handling systems have forced British Airways airlines to stagger the process over the year.

In addition to the flights already running from T5 the flights that are moving tomorrow are; New York JFK, Abuja, Bangalore, Beijing, Cairo, Cape Town, Lagos and Phoenix.

The remaining long-haul flights will move into T5 in two further phases.

The first of these phases will take place on 17 September. The second phase will take place at the end of October.

On its website British Airways said that T5 was "working well" but said: "We did not want to risk the kind of disruption experienced by our customers on the opening day of the terminal."
