12 new routes for UK in Ryanair's biggest ever expansion

Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced that it will be offering more cheap flights from several UK airports to a range of European destinations.

The carrier is launching flights from Luton to Beziers, Derry, Kaunas, Rezeszow, Szczecin and Trapani, while Stansted airport gains cheap flights to Madrid.

Flights from Bristol will now be complemented by routes to Gdansk, Marrakesh and Szczecin, and Birmingham and Manchester airports will gain Ryanair flights to Frankfurt and Brussels respectively.

"Passengers at 12 European bases are set to benefit from our biggest ever single expansion and these 40 new routes will ensure passenger savings of £150 million compared to the high fares levied by Europe's fuel surcharging flag carriers," said Bridget Dowling from the airline.

The carrier has said it guarantees never to add fuel surcharges to the cost of its flights, regardless of increases in the price of oil.

News of these latest services follows the announcement in May of 14 new Ryanair routes, including two from Bournemouth and three from Glasgow.
