Airline & Airport Updates

Birmingham International Airport will become Ryanair's latest European base.

The low-cost airline will launch 20 new cheap flights from Birmingham over the next two months.

Two Boeing 737-800 will be permanently based at the West Midlands airport, where the carrier recently relocated to Terminal 2.

From its base, Ryanair will add new flights to several European cities this summer.

Over the course of June, flights to Billund, Bologna, Dinard, Oslo, Poitiers, Porto, Trieste, Reus and Rzeszow will takeoff from Birmingham.

In July Ryanair will add cheap flights to Bratislava, Bydgoszcz, Gdansk, Olbia, Perpignan, Stockholm and Trapani.

These new services will join existing Ryanair flights from Birmingham to Barcelona, Dublin and Shannon, as well as the recently announced route to Frankfurt.

In May the airline introduced three weekly flights to Marseille from Birmingham – marking the start of its expansion plans at the airport.

All 20 routes will be fully operational by the end of July
