BA to launch new Caribbean flights
Wednesday 8 October 2008
British Airways (BA) is to launch a new route to the Caribbean islands of St Kitts and Nevis beginning next year.
BA
flights to St Kitts will be introduced from January 10th 2009, departing from London's Gatwick Airport.
Adam Daniels, head of leisure sales, said: "This new route to St Kitts underlines our commitment both to the Caribbean and Gatwick and re-establishes a connection between the UK and the island.
"The introduction of St Kitts as a British Airways route means that we now operate to 11 destinations in the Caribbean. The region is performing extremely well for us."
BA's chief executive Willie Walsh recently sought to allay concern that
flights from Glasgow Airport would be cut by the airline in an interview with the Scotsman.
"There are no plans to reduce our services," he explained. The comments follow a BA decision to close its cabin crew base at Glasgow.
