there's excellent skiing with sunny skies and cold conditions over much of Europe this week
Following good snow fall over much of Europe, the sun has come out to play offering blue skies and sunny slopes in Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Andorra. The USA has received heavy falls and the west coast of Canada is forecasting big dumps to arrive in the next few days.
Austria – plenty of sun across Austria at the moment, combined with low temperatures meaning the snow conditions are being kept in their prime. Mayrhofen has all lifts open, as does Arlberg. More sun is forecast for most of the week, with the possibility of light snow. Excellent conditions. Find cheap flights to Innsbruck and Salzburg
France – it’s a similar story for most resorts in the French Alps; very cold conditions and sunny skies. The entire Three Valleys ski area is open and the powder has been preserved by the low temperatures. Light snow is forecast to fall early this week. Find cheap flights to France
USA – Western resorts are currently receiving big falls at the moment providing an excellent start to the New Year. Almost 5.5m of snow has fallen on Jackson Hole so far this season and the snow keeps on coming. Utah, Alta and Taos are also reporting great powder conditions. Find cheap flights to the USA

Bulgaria – the Balkan mountains have seen heavy snowfall over the weekend, greatly improving conditions at Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo. Find cheap flights to Sofia
Switzerland – cold temperatures, clear skies and sun for most of Switzerland’s resorts providing ideal ski weather. Find cheap flights to Geneva
Italy – snow is expected early this week after several days of cold sunny weather. Most resorts have any excellent base so great skiing in the Italian Alps right now. Find cheap flights to Milan
