Monarch to increase number of flights to Spanish islands
Monarch Airlines has announced that it is increasing the frequency of its flights to the Canary and Balearic Islands as part of its 2009 summer schedule. The decision has been taken after an early strong demand from customers who took advantage of the airline's early booking offers.

Number of flight passengers falls during November
The number of passengers who took flights in November has fallen by 4.7 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the Association of European Airlines (AEA). Such a fall in numbers has not been seen since the onset of the Iraq conflict in 2003 and has been described as "unprecedented" by the AEA because it relates to a period unaffected by conflict or external events.

Russian national carrier begins joint operations with Czech Airlines
Aeroflot and Czech Airlines have announced that they have started joint operations on flights between Prague and Zhilina and Prague and Skopie. Under the alliance, the Russian flagship carrier will see the Prague-Zhilina and Prague-Skopie routes become an addition to their flight network, with Czech Airlines already working alongside Aeroflot as a marketing partner on flights from Moscow to Irkutsk, Barnaul, Omsk and Kemerovo.

Bristol Airport expected to see increase in flight passengers
More passengers could be flying into Bristol after the city was named one of the world's top ten cities to visit by DK Eyewitness Travel. It is thought that the new Harvey Nichols store and Cinema de Lux will encourage more visitors to the south-west city, as will the new Cabot Circus development.

Glasgow Airport opens first phase of terminal extension
Glasgow Airport opened the first phase of its multi-million pound terminal extension to passengers on Tuesday. Flight passengers will now be able to benefit from a new ground floor UK arrivals hall and a JD Wetherspoon bar and restaurant. A new Starbucks coffee shop, convenience store and retail outlets will open soon as part of the £31 million project.
